ODEION School of Music
was established
by
Eftihia
Papageorgiou, Director of
ODEION, who has over 16 years of experience performing and
providing musical education of the highest quality. ODEION
provides enthusiastic and structured musical instruction in a
supportive environment in which students are encouraged to explore and
expand their musical interests and to develop their musical abilities.
Drawing on a variety
of methods of music education, including technical, expressive, and
improvisational techniques, our carefully selected
instructors bring out the best in students, regardless of age, skill,
or experience. Students of ODEION flourish in its unique
environment and regularly exceed their own expectations of their
musical interests and abilities.
ODEION offers private lessons in piano, voice, guitar, and
violin. Every student enrolled
in private lessons receives instruction specially tailored to meet
the student's needs, desires, and goals. During an initial
consultation, ODEION's Director assists students with help determining
their musical interests, assesses their level of skill and knowledge,
develops challenging but obtainable goals, and works with students and
parents of students to establish an appropriate course of instruction
and to select an instructor.
We also offer a variety of group music classes,
including music theory, master
classes, and performance technique and interpretation. All group
classes are
developed and taught by highly qualified instructors,
representing a unique learning
opportunity for students of all ages and all levels of skill and
education.
Additionally, ODEION is the home of the
Chicago
Hellenic Choir, which has been promoting, preserving, and
celebrating the language, traditions, and religion of Greece through
music since 2004.
